Simple Day in Cascais, Shoes & Stroller! 🇵🇹
Today was one of those days that reminded me why the simple things matter the most, especially when you're a parent. We're in beautiful Cascais, Portugal, soaking up the vibrant mix of young and old that gives this place its soulful heartbeat.
Comfort was our top priority for today's shopping spree
It's amazing how a good pair of shoes can make such a difference; it's a lesson learned over time and miles walked. And let's not forget the stroller—a true lifesaver for any parent. We found one that's a dream to fold away and takes up just a tiny corner of our car, even if the price tag gave us a slight pause.
The day was long, and by nightfall, our usually cheerful Julian had reached his limit. It seems the rush of new impressions from the day were overwhelming. In the quiet of our dimmed hotel room, I could see him process his day—jumping, walking, tumbling—until he settled on my back with some soothing music. That's when the magic happened: our baby boy drifted off to sleep, giving us a moment of peace, and hopefully a chance to grab a bite ourselves.
It's our last night in this particular hotel, and while we're not leaving Cascais just yet, we're moving to a more budget-friendly spot. These first three days, a little splash of luxury before we settle into the local rhythm, have been lovely. There's something special about Portugal—maybe it's the coziness, or perhaps it's the wonderful people we've met. Even driving here, which can be an adventure in itself, has been a fun challenge to navigate.
As we prepare to switch to our new accommodation, we're already falling in love with Portugal. The old streets, the sea's lullaby, and the laughter of children playing—it's a symphony of life, plain and simple. And as I reflect on the day, I realize that it's these moments, the ups and downs of family life, that are the true adventures. Here's to many more days like this, in Cascais or wherever our journey takes us.
